Tai Chi gets cautious thumbs up for positive mental health benefits!

Tai Chi is a martial art that is very low impact. Doctors and Professors from Tufts Medical Center have pooled the results of over 40 studies done on the mental health effects of Tai Chi. They found that Tai Chi has been associated with reduced stress, anxiety and depression, and enhanced mood, in both healthy people and those with chronic conditions.

(Of course, just to cover there you know whats, they also determined that a systematic review of the subject found that although Tai Chi does appear to have positive psychological effects, more high quality, randomized trials are needed.) Whatever!

I know from experience that Tai Chi, as well as many other forms of exercise and discipline do in fact have a positive effect on mood and mental health!
